Hello everyone

Hi everyone, have been busy reading not enough time to update my blog, sorry, but I'm back. I have read many books this past 2 months but my most enjoyable has to be Demon Assassin the follow up to Scared to Death (by the way this won KS3 Chills Award) written by Alan Gibbons. This book follows the adventures of Paul, remember him? It ties up some loose ends, but takes you on a very terrifying journey through dark and dangerous WW2 to the depths of Hell. I really enjoyed this book. Took some time to get into but it was worth the read. Oh by the way there is another follow on to this book, will good ever win over evil?

Carnegie starts in April, am expecting great things from some of the books, the long list looks good. I hope the short list is great! Can't wait.

Arctic Hero by Catherine Johnson

Finished this book in on sitting. It is the true story of Matthew Henson an explorer, survivor and arctic hero. It starts with his tragic life in America and ends with him being a national hero 45 years after his death. Read this truly amazing story and be inspired.

A good sized font with a few graphic illustrations make it an easy read. 7/10

Scared to Death - The End

Well I've finally finished this great book. Not what I expected, better. The story takes a mysterious journey through London in the time of Jack the Ripper (so you think). Redman truly is evil with a dark seed leading him on.(you'll understand when you read the book). The last few chapters had me engrossed in the excellent build up to a fantastic end, or is it? Watch this space for the next book Hell's Nightmare II.
The author has clearly researched the serial killer Jack. Locations and dates are factual. Well written 8/10

Scared to Death part II

The story has become dark and sinister, people are not what I thought they were. Redman, I think has a real grievance with the other character in the book. (Who I think is darker than I first thought). Nearly at the end and some questions are finally being answered. Watch this space..........

Scared to Death by Alan Gibbons

Up to date Jack the Ripper type story with a sinister twist. Locations that are believable to the events and teenagers that are real (or are they)? This story was slow to start but has suddenly made an impact. The story revolves around Redman a character you will not forget in a hurry. His relationship with other characters (I won't name them, cos that might spoil things). All night parties, fighting at school, girlfriends, best friends and much more in this modern take on an old classic story. (or was it)?
